Watch: NU'EST's Minhyun And VIXX's Leo Talk About Their Dashing Character In Musical "Marie Antoinette"

NU’EST’s Minhyun and VIXX’s Leo shared why they decided to appear in “Marie Antoinette” in a new cast interview!

On June 11, it was confirmed that the two idols would be appearing in an upcoming production of the musical, which is based on the Japanese novel by Shusaku Endo. They will both be taking on the role of Count Axel Von Fersen, a charming and brave Swedish count who is in love with Marie Antoinette. The production is expected to be a box office hit, as it was ranked No. 1 on ticket reservation sites after the first round of sales opened on June 18.

In the newly released video for “Marie Antoinette,” Minhyun and Leo revealed their motivations for participating. Leo stated, “I saw ‘Marie Antoinette’ in Japan. I felt very drawn to the work and really wanted to appear in it.” He went on to mention that he thought the dynamics and conflicts between the different characters were very exciting.

As for Minhyun, “Marie Antoinette” will be his first musical ever. He expressed his enthusiasm for the new challenge, saying, “It was very fascinating for me to have the opportunity to work with such renowned staff and famous senior actors. I am participating with the desire to work hard and put on an impressive performance.”

Despite being new to musicals, Minhyun showed deep understanding of his character. “[Count Axel Von Fersen] is an idealist who honestly expresses his thoughts, and he shows pure and unwavering love for Marie Antoinette by staying by her side,” he explained, building anticipation as to how he will portray the character on stage.
