BTS's "Map Of The Soul: Persona" Crowned By Guinness World Records As Best-Selling Album In Korean History
BTS has achieved yet another Guinness World Records title!
On June 25 local time, Guinness World Records officially announced BTS’s latest album “Map of the Soul: Persona” as the best-selling album in South Korea.
Released on April 12 this year, “Map of the Soul: Persona” sold 3,399,302 copies domestically as of May, breaking the previous record held by Kim Gun Mo’s 1995 album “Wrongful Meeting,” which sold 3.3 million copies.
Meanwhile, “Map of the Soul: Persona” achieved several other feats like topping the Billboard 200 and the United Kingdom’s Official Albums Chart. In April, the music video for the album’s title track “Boy With Luv” was crowned by the Guinness World Records as the “Most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group,” “Most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours,” and the “Most Viewed YouTube video in 24 hours.” Other titles held by BTS are “Most Twitter engagements (average retweets) for a music group” and “Most Twitter engagements (average retweets).”
