Brands Respond To Questions Regarding Replacement Of Their Model Song Hye Kyo
Several brands have been questioned about their model Song Hye Kyo following the news of her divorce from fellow actor Song Joong Ki.
According to news outlet Kukmin Ilbo, the advertising industry is currently dealing with the aftermaths of rumors that are spreading about Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki’s divorce. Although the two actors were nicknamed “Song Song Couple” and served as advertising models for a number of brands, some are reportedly considering replacing them due to rumors of conflicts as well as affairs spreading wildly on the internet.
“From the perspectives of companies that value brand image, they’re in a situation where they must quickly replace their advertising model,” an advertising industry source said.
The news outlet reported that Dyson, a household appliance brand that uses Song Hye Kyo as a model, is currently considering making edits to advertisements scheduled for next month or finding other models through advertising agencies.
A source from cosmetics brand Amore Pacific, which has worked with Song Hye Kyo since 2001, stated, “We are not considering changes such as the replacement of models (due to this incident). We are not in a position to say anything as it deals with [Song Hye Kyo’s] personal life.” Other companies, including bottled water brand ICIS, have not released official statements.
News outlet Viewers reported additional statements made by Amore Pacific and Dyson, which revealed that there were no [clauses] about personal issues in their contracts. SueComma Bonnie also stated, “There’s still time left in the contract, but we haven’t decided anything in regards to contract adjustments.”
Song Hye Kyo is currently working as an advertising model for a number of brands, including Dyson, Amore Pacific, sunglasses brand Vedi Vero, and ICIS.
