BTS's 'Map Of The Soul: Persona' Takes No. 1 On Mid-2019 List Of Top Physical Albums Sales In United States

BTS’s “Map of the Soul: Persona” is the highest-selling physical album in the United States for 2019 so far!

On June 27 local time, Nielsen Music released its Mid-Year Report for 2019, which is based on the tracking period from January 4 to June 20.

BTS’s “Map of the Soul: Persona” takes No. 1 on the list of Top 10 Physical Albums in the United States on the Mid-Year Report, with 312,000 units sold.

The group’s latest mini album also comes in No. 4 on the ranking of Top 10 Albums (Total Sales), with 343,000 in sales. This chart is based on physical and digital sales of the album and not overall equivalent album units (which in addition to album sales, also includes album equivalent songs from downloads and song streaming volume). On the Top 10 Albums ranking based on overall equivalent album units, Ariana Grande’s “Thank U, Next” takes No. 1 with 1,552,800 units, and no Korean artists rank in the Top 10.

BTS also comes in No. 3 on the list of the Top 5 Genre Artists in Pop. This ranking is based on album sales, track equivalent albums, and on-demand audio streaming equivalent albums.
