Berry Good's Daye's Reps Respond To Report That She And "Produce 101" Contestant Were Disciplined For School Violence
Berry Good member Daye’s representatives have responded to further reports regarding alleged school violence.
Last month, Daye was accused of school violence, and she responded with a personal statement denying the allegations. On June 26, media outlet Wikitree stated that in their own reporting, they had found that Daye and a “Produce 101” contestant (hereby referred to as “A”) had been disciplined for school violence. The report stated that Daye was disciplined for five days of school volunteer work and four hours of special classes while A was suspended for ten days and received ten hours of special classes.
In response, lawyer Choi Hyung Seung from a law firm that serves as Daye’s legal representative stated, “The article that stated Daye was disciplined for school violence is false. After checking the facts of the school where Daye graduated, the academic committee that had handled the incident confirmed that the one who was disciplined was someone else and not her.”
Choi Hyung Seung added, “After checking the official documents regarding the school violence, it was confirmed that Daye did not receive any disciplinary measures. A petition has been filed with the Press Arbitration Commission against the media that reported the false information.”
He also announced that they will take stern measures against malicious comments and rumors. He said, “Due to the posts containing false rumors about Daye and school violence as well as the malicious comments about this, there has been enormous harm to not only her but also her family and colleagues.
With our own monitoring and submitted data, we will make a strong legal response against the spread of false information.”
He stated that following the suspicions of alleged school violence, Daye’s health has deteriorated to the point that she fainted due to mental stress. Her lawyer requested, “We ask you to refrain from reporting without confirming the exact facts.”
Berry Good’s agency JTG Entertainment revealed, “This is absolutely not true about Daye, and the agency will take strong legal action for defamation in relation to online posts about school violence that have been uploaded by users not using their real names.”
Berry Good’s mini album “Fantastic” was released on May 25, but Daye did not participate in the promotions due to health issues.
