Watch: Ailee Opens Up About The Pressure Of A Comeback After Success of "Goblin" OST

On June 29, Dingo Music released a “Tipsy Live” featuring Ailee, who is gearing up for her first comeback in almost three years!

When asked what she’s been doing recently, the singer answered, “These days, I’m getting ready for my comeback. Since I’m coming back after so long, my expectations are really high.” She was then asked how long it’s been since her last comeback, to which she replied, “Two and a half years? Almost three?”

Ailee’s song “I Will Go to You Like the First Snow,” from hit tvN drama “Goblin,” had immediate success on multiple music charts. Even though it was released early January of 2017, the song remained in the top 20 of the MelOn music chart halfway through the year, and set a precedent for long-running hit songs.

The singer continued, “Since ‘I Will Go to You Like the First Snow’ did so well and was ranked first for so long, I was afraid to release anything else. I felt more pressure as each day went by, and I just thought to myself, ‘What should I do?’ I wondered, ‘What kind of song would I need to release in order to follow the success of that song?’ Since I was so caught up with worrying about that, I would record dozens of songs and not like a single one of them. I just felt that something was missing, so I kept on recording. Since I have spent so much time preparing for these songs, I now just want everyone to hear them.”

One of her dancers mentioned how many hit songs the singer has, with another dancer adding, “Even though we hear your songs all the time, we get goosebumps every single time we listen to them,” encouraging a hit song medley.

Despite not having any background music, Ailee sang, “Singing Got Better,” “I Will Show You,” “U&I,” “Don’t Touch Me,” as well as the hit “Goblin” OST with a poster of Gong Yoo in the background!
