BTS Breaks Records As "Lights/Boy With Luv" Tops Oricon's Daily Singles Chart
BTS’s new Japanese single has taken the No. 1 spot on Oricon’s daily singles chart and set new records!
The group’s tenth Japanese single “Lights/Boy With Luv” was released on July 3, along with the music video for its title track “Lights.”
On the July 2 daily singles chart of Japan’s largest music statistics site Oricon, “Lights/Boy With Luv” comes in No. 1 with estimated sales of 467,107 units.
This is higher than their previous first day sales record for the 2018 single “Fake Love/Airplane Pt. 2,” which reached sales of 327,342 units in its first day. The first day sales for “Lights/Boy With Luv” also surpasses the first week sales for “Fake Love/Airplane Pt. 2,” which totaled 454,829 units. “Lights/Boy With Luv” is therefore now the bestselling Japanese single by a foreign artist both for first day and first week sales!
Congratulations to BTS!
