Yeo Jin Goo Shares Why He Was Drawn To His Character In Upcoming Drama "Hotel Del Luna"

Yeo Jin Goo has shared his thoughts on his character in tvN’s highly-anticipated new drama “Hotel del Luna”!

“Hotel del Luna” is an upcoming “fantasy horror romance” starring Yeo Jin Goo as an elite hotelier who ends up running a hotel for ghosts. The haunted hotel is owned by the beautiful but ill-tempered Jang Man Wol (played by IU), who has fallen under a curse as punishment for her past wrongdoings.

When asked why he had decided to appear in the drama, Yeo Jin Goo remarked, “I thought the story that unfolded in the unique and special Hotel del Luna was fun and exciting, and I was really drawn to the fact that the character of Goo Chan Sung would allow me to show viewers a new side of myself that was different from [my recent drama] ‘The Crowned Clown.'”

As for what appealed to him most about the role of Goo Chan Sung, Yeo Jin Goo explained, “Goo Chan Sung has high self-esteem and a lot of pride, and he likes to act haughty. He is the definition of a hard-working perfectionist. On the other hand, he is also a sentimental character who is highly capable of empathizing with other people. I think that’s the reason that the elite hotelier Chan Sung is emotionally swayed by the Hotel del Luna, as opposed to another hotel.”

While speaking about the scenes in which Goo Chan Sung encounters the hotel’s ghostly guests, Yeo Jin Goo revealed, “In real life, I’m the type who gets scared pretty easily.” He playfully continued, “During the scenes when Chan Sung comes face-to-face with ghosts, I tried to use some of my real-life shock and fear in portraying him.”

Finally, the actor expressed his excitement for the upcoming drama, commenting, “‘Hotel del Luna’ is a drama that introduces a secretive and mysterious world known to no one else. Not only is it set in a unique and special place, but the diverse stories of the ghosts who are guests [at the the hotel] will come together to make the drama even more fun.”

He added, “I’m looking forward to being able to show many different sides of myself through the drama.”
