Upcoming KBS Drama Temporarily Halts Filming To Mourn Passing Of Cast Member Jeon Mi Sun
KBS’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama “Mung Bean Chronicle” (literal title) is taking a temporary break from filming to mourn the loss of actress Jeon Mi Sun.
On June 29, Jeon Mi Sun passed away and a private funeral was held for her on July 2.
The sudden news of her death was especially shocking to the cast and crew of the upcoming drama as she was confirmed to appear as Chun Haeng Soo. A source from “Mung Bean Chronicle” explained on June 30, “She was set to begin filming soon and we are all grief-stricken right now.” The cast and crew were in attendance at her funeral parlor to say their final farewells.
Following the news of her passing, the “Mung Bean Chronicle” team made the decision to temporarily halt filming to mourn for her. The drama had begun filming scenes in June and were preparing to start filming with Jeon Mi Sun. A source from the drama spoke on July 4 and said, “We are currently on a temporary break from filming to mourn her loss,” and cautiously added, “We will soon begin filming again.” They also clarified that there would be no changes to the premiere date.
When asked about who will fill Jeon Mi Sun’s role in the drama, the source replied, “We are cautiously looking for someone to take her place.”
