Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation Working To Create Commemorative Medals Of BTS

BTS is set to have commemorative medals made for their accomplishments!

On July 3, Jo Yong Man, the head of the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation (KOMSCO) spoke about the plans in an interview.

KOMSCO is responsible for creating commemorative coins or medals whenever there is an important and memorable event in Korea, and Jo Yong Man was asked about plans for future coins and medals.

He revealed, “We are currently pursuing the production of commemorative medals of BTS. We are in the stage of communicating with their agency. As they are idol stars who have seen great success on a global scale, we really hope to create commemorative medals for them, regardless of prospective sales. We believe this will also be a great honor for the BTS members as well.”

Last April, EXO became the first K-pop group to be honored with commemorative medals and coins made by KOMSCO. The corporation explained, “We wish to honor K-pop stars who have contributed to the expansion of Korean culture.”
