Song Joong Ki's Father Reported To Have Opened Up About Son's Divorce In Text Message To Acquaintances

Song Joong Ki’s father is reported to have sent out a text message to acquaintances regarding his son’s divorce from Song Hye Kyo.

Bridge News released a report on July 6 that the day before on July 5, Song Yong Gak sent a text message to those around him. His message is said to have read, “I apologize for bringing such bad news suddenly. I believe that everything stems from me and Joong Ki being lacking, and we will conclude everything with sincerity.” He also added, “Please watch over us and send us your encouraging guidance. I hope you have a healthy and happy day.”

Bridge News also reported that they briefly conversed with Song Yong Gak on July 6, who explained that his absence since news of the divorce has been due to medical reasons. He stated, “I’m currently hospitalized for cataract surgery, so it is difficult for me to be on the phone.”

The media outlet also reported that previous rumors that Song Yong Gak did not know about his son’s divorce were untrue. An acquaintance who had gone out for drinks with Song Yong Gak the night before the announcement stated that he was quieter and drank more than usual, concerning the people who were there.

On June 27, Song Joong Ki announced that he was filing for divorce from Song Hye Kyo, less than two years after the couple tied the knot in October 2017.
