IU Shares Her Thoughts Behind Her Casting And Working With Yeo Jin Goo For tvN's "Hotel Del Luna"

IU shared her reason for starring in tvN’s upcoming drama “Hotel del Luna” and her thoughts about working with Yeo Jin Goo!

“Hotel del Luna” is about elite hotelier Goo Chan Sung (Yeo Jin Goo) who finds himself in charge of the Hotel del Luna with the beautiful but hot-tempered hotel owner Jang Man Wol (IU).

At the press conference for “Hotel del Luna” on July 8, IU explained, “After ‘My Ahjussi,’ I wanted to greet people by showing a brighter side of me. I didn’t know I would chose my next project so soon.”

She shared, “An acquaintance told me I was given the synopsis for ‘Hotel del Luna’ and asked me if I read it. When I found and read it, the character was so strong and had such a deep background that it almost made me wonder if it had been properly sent to me. I was thankful for receiving diverse characters.”

IU further elaborated that during her first meeting with the director and scriptwriters, she felt moved to take on the role when they acted with conviction that they wanted her for the role, especially when the Hong Sisters pointed out how strong of a character Jang Man Wol is.

The actress also talked about her co-star Yeo Jin Goo. She said, “After my casting, I heard news that Yeo Jin Goo had been cast, and I was really happy. I thought he suited the role of Chan Sung very well. He also came very well prepared for the first reading. I thought that I should also practice hard.”

She added, “After Yeo Jin Goo was cast, everything started to work out well on set. I think he’s our lucky charm.”
