Kang Daniel's Side Submits Additional Documents As LM Entertainment's Appeal Awaits Final Verdict
The legal battle between LM Entertainment and Kang Daniel appears to be coming to an end.
On July 10, the Seoul Central District Courts is wrapping up deliberation for the appeal filed by LM Entertainment regarding the lawsuit filed by Kang Daniel on the validity of their exclusive contract. Ahead of the date, Kang Daniel’s legal representatives submitted additional supplementary documents on July 9, and also delivered them to LM Entertainment’s legal representatives.
The courts previously made the decision to fully accept Kang Daniel’s request to suspend his exclusive contract with LM Entertainment, and the ruling allowed Kang Daniel to begin pursuing activities in the entertainment industry as an independent party. The agency filed an appeal to the ruling, and the two sides have been stating their cases in front of the judge. It remains to be seen whether the new supplementary documents will have an impact on the ruling.
Both Kang Daniel and LM Entertainment’s sides clarified that July 10 is the end up deliberation, but not the date that the final verdict is announced as previously reported. The courts will look over all of the documents submitted by both parties by July 10, and determine whether they will accept or dismiss LM Entertainment’s appeal.
The two sides explained, “We believe there was a miscommunication of information previously. Today is only the last date to submit supplementary documents, the final verdict will not be made today. That is set to be at a later date.”
