Park Yoochun Suspended From Appearing On MBC

Park Yoochun has been officially suspended from appearing on the network MBC.

SpoTV News reported that in May, Park Yoochun was placed on a list of people who are suspended from appearing on MBC.

A source told SpoTV News, “Park Yoochun hadn’t appeared on an MBC program for many years. He evoked criticism from society through the drug-related suspicions, and it appears that his suspension from appearing on the network was made official after his positive drug test during the investigation and his arrest.”

On July 10, MBC confirmed through several news outlets that it was decided on May 15 by a deliberative committee that Park Yoochun would be placed on the list.

Park Yoochun recently was charged with purchasing and using Philopon on several occasions, a violation of the Narcotics Control Act. He received a 10-month prison sentence suspended for two years of probation and treatment, and he was fined 1.4 million won (approximately $1,189). The probation means that if he commits an offense during the two-year period, he will receive a 10-month prison sentence.
