Gaon Chart has announced its latest batch of official platinum certifications!
Last year, the Korea Music Content Industry Association implemented a brand-new certification system for album sales, song downloads, and online streaming. Starting with music released on or after January 1, 2018, Gaon Chart now certifies albums platinum once they reach 250,000 sales, while songs receive a platinum certification at 100 million streams or 2.5 million downloads.
On July 11, Gaon Chart announced that GOT7’s latest mini album “Spinning Top : Between Security & Insecurity,” MONSTA X’s third studio album “Take.2: We Are Here,” and NCT 127’s recent mini album “We Are Superhuman” had all received official platinum certifications after selling over 250,000 copies each.
Meanwhile, MAMAMOO’s “Starry Night,” MOMOLAND’s “BBoom BBoom,” Chungha’s “Roller Coaster,” and MeloMance’s “You” all received official platinum certifications in the download category after surpassing 2.5 million downloads each.
Finally, in the streaming category, MC the Max’s “After You’ve Gone” was certified platinum after reaching 100 million streams, while Paul Kim’s “Every Day, Every Moment” was certified double platinum after surpassing 200 million streams.
