NCT Dream Appointed As Global Ambassador Of World Scout Foundation + To Release Special Track

NCT Dream was chosen as the World Scout Foundation’s first global ambassador!

As the foundation’s ambassador, NCT Dream will be releasing a song titled “Fireflies” on July 15 at 6 p.m. KST. All profits made through the track will be used as funds to support Scouting activities in low income countries.

“Fireflies” will be a fast tempo electronic dance track with rhythmical synth sounds and a memorable guitar riff. The song will have English lyrics that relay a hopeful message about coming together and lighting up the world.

The World Scout Foundation was established in 1969 to promote and develop Scouting around the world, and King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden is its honorary chairman.

The foundation’s director Jon Geoghegan expressed, “King Carl XVI Gustaf and the World Scout Foundation are happy to have NCT Dream as our ambassador. Music is a language that transcends culture and beliefs and unites people as one. We believe NCT Dream will spread a message of peace and hope to all youths around the world through music and set an example for them.”

Meanwhile, NCT Dream is known for their youthful energy and performances. In 2018, they were the only K-pop group to place on Billboard’s “21 Under 21 2018: Music’s Next Generation” and TIME Magazine’s “25 Most Influential Teens of 2018.”
