Kang Ji Hwan Gives Brief Statement After Interrogation At Court For Sexual Assault Charges

Actor Kang Ji Hwan, who is facing charges of sexual assault, attended a questioning at court regarding the police’s request for a pretrial detention warrant before returning to his holding cell at the Bundang Police Station.

In the morning, Kang Ji Hwan was escorted out of the police station to attend his hearing that was held at 11 a.m. KST. The actor was wearing a black mask and cap to cover his face, and he did not answer any questions as he walked in handcuffs. He boarded the car that was prepared for him and he headed to the courts, where he continued to keep his silence as he went inside.

It was after his hearing that Kang Ji Hwan gave a brief statement. He said, “From what I know, bad public opinion has been formed about the victims, and for that, I am sorry. I will cooperate fully with the investigation.”

Kang Ji Hwan will be held at the Bundang Police Station until the courts give their verdict on the request for his pretrial detention warrant. The decision is set to be made later in the evening on July 12 at the earliest.

Following Kang Ji Hwan’s arrest, his agency Huayi Brothers Korea announced that in order to cooperate with police investigations, he would be canceling all scheduled activities. The actor’s current drama “Joseon Survival” stated that it would be canceling this week’s episode and would not be airing any reruns.
