Watch: "Running Man" Cast Teams Up With Gummy, Apink, Code Kunst, Nucksal, And Soran To Complete Hilarious Missions
The “Running Man” cast has formed the final teams for their upcoming fan meeting performances!
On the July 14 episode of SBS’s “Running Man,” Gummy, Nucksal and Code Kunst, Soran, and Apink competed in a series of missions with the “Running Man” cast members to decide who will perform together at the show’s highly-anticipated nine-year anniversary fan meeting.
In the last episode, four teams were decided after the first mission: Nucksal and Code Kunst with Song Ji Hyo and Ji Suk Jin; Apink with HaHa and Yoo Jae Suk; Soran with Yang Se Chan and Jun So Min; and Gummy with Kim Jong Kook and Lee Kwang Soo.
The second mission was a singing contest of physical power, where the teams had to sing songs on a karaoke machine. The mission was further complicated by the fact that each team had to connect their bodies without having certain parts of their bodies touching the ground. Nucksal and Code Kunst’s team received a score of 28 points with their cover of Dynamic Duo’s “Go Back,” but ended up with a total of 5 points after deductions due to their incorrect posture.
Yang Se Chan had the room laughing due to his enthusiasm, and the “Running Man” cast members encouraged his cheerful attitude by asking the Apink members what they thought of such energetic men. When Jung Eun Ji answered that those men were every girl’s ideal type, Yang Se Chan took his passionate yelling to another level. Eventually, Yang Se Chan’s team with Soran and Jun So Min achieved a total of 53 points.
Gummy was able to score 84 points, but because her hand was placed on the microphone, 60 points were taken off. When Gummy regretfully commented, “You should’ve told me,” Lee Kwang Soo and Kim Jong Kook responded by yelling, “We kept shouting at you from the back!”
Jung Eun Ji skillfully sang So Chan Whee’s “Tears,” receiving 98 points for her team. Although they lost 30 points, the girl group remained at the No. 1 spot with Yoo Jae Suk and HaHa.
When the time came for the teams to replace members, Jung Eun Ji commented, “There’s someone there that I feel shouldn’t be there,” and replaced HaHa with Lee Kwang Soo. After seeing HaHa’s happy expression, Chorong warned, “If you enjoy it so much, we’re going to bring you back later.”
Soran’s team used their “Replace One Team Member” card to send Yang Se Chan to Nucksal and Code Kunst’s team and bring in Ji Suk Jin in his place. Yang Se Chan commented, “I didn’t realize Code Kunst was such a goofy guy,” to which the rapper replied, “To be honest, I joked around before too but Ji Suk Jin told me to stop.”
The third mission had the cast members and guests playing random games on top of a conveyor belt. Although Yang Se Chan and Code Kunst, who represented their team, were able to make it to the third round, they were ultimately eliminated on the fourth round.
Namjoo and Chorong represented Apink’s team during their turn at the game, but when everyone realized that Chorong did not know the rules, Yoo Jae Suk remarked, “I love that she went out without even knowing the rules.” After the pair failed, Lee Kwang Soo and Son Naeun were up next. Lee Kwang Soo commented, “I don’t have anywhere to go,” showing his determination, but ultimately failed due to a difficult problem.
Nucksal and Code Kunst’s team was able to place first in the final mission, and they decided to keep their team members as is. Soran’s team, who achieved second place, replaced Ji Suk Jin with Yoo Jae Suk.
A week later, the teams met with one another to discuss their concepts for the upcoming fan meeting performances, and Yoo Jae Suk was visibly grumpy. When Lee Tae Wook played snippets of BTS’s “Fake Love” and “Boy With Luv,” the comedian perked up. He later commented, “So Min and Soran match so well. But I don’t.”
Song Ji Hyo and Yang Se Chan showed off their rapping skills in front of Nucksal and Code Kunst, who informed the pair that rappers these days mumbled their lyrics. The rappers insisted that as long as they had confidence, Song Ji Hyo and Yang Se Chan could definitely become rappers.
After HaHa confidently sang a ballad in front of Kim Jong Kook and Gummy during their meeting, he asked them to prove their skills as well. After searching for a song, Kim Jong Kook and Gummy impressed HaHa as they sang an impromptu duet of Kim Hyun Chul and Lee Sora’s “The Blue in You.”
When Lee Kwang Soo and Ji Suk Jin met up with Apink, they also invited composer Nangi, who previously participated in the production of MOMOLAND’s “BBoom BBoom,” BEAST’s “Virus,” and a number of Apink’s tracks. Although Ji Suk Jin showed his determination by commenting, “I’m going to put my life on this,” he was confused when Nangi pointed out that they had to do a “key check” for their vocals.
Lee Kwang Soo volunteered to sing Kim Bum Soo’s “I Miss You” first, but he stopped as soon as he sang the first line and requested a do-over.
