Girl's Day's Hyeri Becomes Member Of UNICEF's Honors Club Due To Generous Donations
Actress and Girl’s Day member Hyeri has become a member of the UNICEF Honors Club.
The members of this club have donated more than 10,000,000 won (approximately $84,800) to UNICEF Korea to help young children all over the world. Hyeri joins other influential celebrities in this club, including actor Ahn Sung Ki, figure skater Kim Yuna, BTS‘s Jin, and more.
Hyeri will receive her UNICEF Honors Club certification plaque at a ceremony on July 26. In addition to donating, Hyeri will also participate in various UNICEF campaigns such as “Schools for Asia.”
UNICEF’s “Schools for Asia” is a support campaign for children in 11 countries within Asia, including Mongolia, Nepal, Indonesia, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Laos, Vietnam, and more. Hyeri’s donation will go towards providing underprivileged children safe and sanitary learning environments. This includes construction of the building, textbooks, education on AIDS prevention, and programs to train teachers.
