SBS Apologizes Regarding 'Law Of The Jungle' Hunting Endangered Clams + To Penalize Production Team

SBS has issued an official statement and apology in regards to endangered clams being illegally hunted on “Law of the Jungle.”

The statement is as follows:

SBS held a personnel committee meeting on July 18 regarding the “Law of the Jungle in Lost Island” production team’s capture of giant clams in Thailand. The decision was made to issue a warning, probation, and salary reduction to the entertainment department head, CP (chief producer), and producer, respectively, and the producer has been removed from the “Law of the Jungle” production team.

In addition, SBS has terminated VOD streaming of all “Law of the Jungle in Lost Island” episodes to minimize the discomfort of viewers, and an apology to viewers will be broadcast on the [July] 20 episode of “Law of the Jungle.” We will do our best to prevent recurrences by conducting thorough preliminary research and by providing a manual for the prevention of similar incidents and legal risks overseas. Our apology to viewers is as follows:

SBS once again expresses deep apologies for not having sufficient knowledge of the local regulations in regards to the filming and hunting of giant clams in the”‘Law of the Jungle in Lost Island” episodes in Thailand.

SBS has terminated VOD streaming of all “Law of the Jungle in Lost Island” episodes in order to minimize the discomfort of viewers.

In the future, we promise to do our best to prevent recurrences by conducting thorough preliminary research and by providing a manual.
