Watch: "Produce X 101" Trainees Express Their Gratitude For Lee Dong Wook And Trainers

“Produce X 101” trainees showed their gratitude towards Lee Dong Wook and the trainers for being sturdy pillars of support!

On the July 19 finale of “Produce X 101,” the remaining Top 20 trainees talked in interviews about how grateful they were to each of the trainers for being amazing mentors. Song Yu Vin thanked vocal trainer Lee Seok Hoon for giving him a realistic vocal lesson that allowed him to shine on stage. Kim Min Kyu thanked dance trainer Kwon Jae Seung for giving him kind words along with his tough critique.

Cha Jun Ho shared that vocal trainer Shin Yoo Mi gave him the confidence to perform through her compliments. As Shin Yoo Mi had previously raved about Han Seung Woo’s falsetto, Han Seung Woo joked, “If you contact me, I’ll go meet you with my falsetto.”

Lee Jin Hyuk and Cho Seung Youn also thanked rap trainer Cheetah for her helpful critique and advice, and Cho Seung Youn said, “Please always be happy and healthy, and please keep your cool style.” Son Dong Pyo chose dance trainer Bae Yoon Jung as his top pick, explaining that he felt as if she truly understood his burdens despite her cold aura. Finally, Tony mentioned his feelings of sincere gratitude for dance trainer Choi Young Joon once more, explaining, “If teacher Young Joon didn’t put me in A class during evaluations, I don’t think I could have made it to the live broadcast.”

The trainees then went on to describe Lee Dong Wook as having a cold first impression. However, they quickly began to compliment him, with Lee Jin Hyuk calling him “tsundere” (someone who has an appearance of coldness but is actually warm and caring). Song Hyeong Jun recalled a time in which Lee Dong Wook visited the “X” class before re-evaluations, while Nam Do Hyon said, “He comes to see us even when he’s busy with his schedule.” Lee Eun Sang also commented about gaining strength from Lee Dong Wook as well as his sincerity towards the trainees.

Lee Se Jin then stated that he was touched by Lee Dong Wook always looking after their health, explaining, “He always tells us not to get hurt.” Cho Seung Youn even commented, “It’s not [a job] you could do without affection.” Song Yu Vin also explained that he truly felt Lee Dong Wook’s sincerity when the host also cried during eliminations. He added, “[Lee Dong Wook] may be our No. 1 fan.”

Thankful of the love and support they’ve received from Lee Dong Wook, the trainees planned a surprise party along with a cake they’ve decorated themselves. Lee Dong Wook expressed his hopes for everyone to debut, and they shared happy moments together.
