'Produce X 101' Finale Achieves Its Highest Ratings Yet, But Falls Short Of 'Produce 101 Season 2'

Mnet’s “Produce X 101” went out on its highest viewership ratings yet!

On July 19, “Produce x 101” aired its live finale, in which it announced the final lineup for its new 11-member project group X1.

According to Nielsen Korea, the four-hour finale scored an average viewership rating of 3.892 percent nationwide, marking the idol survival show’s highest ratings yet by a large margin—the season’s previous viewership record was an average nationwide rating of 2.508 percent (for its ninth episode).

However, viewership ratings for the final episodes of “Produce X 101” fell short of those for “Produce 101 Season 2,” the season that gave rise to the popular project group Wanna One in 2017. Not only did the “Produce 101 Season 2” finale achieve significantly higher ratings than those for the “Produce X 101” finale—the Season 2 live finale scored an average of 5.197 percent nationwide—but even the penultimate episode of Season 2 performed slightly better than the “Produce X 101” finale, scoring an average rating of 3.927 percent nationwide.
