Update: MAMAMOO, AOA, Lovelyz, And More Confirmed To Join Girl Group Competition Show "Queendom"

The lineup has been confirmed for Mnet’s upcoming girl group competition show “Queendom.”

On July 23, a source from the program commented, “Oh My Girl, MAMAMOO, AOA, Lovelyz, (G)I-DLE, and Park Bom have been confirmed to appear [on ‘Queendom’].”

Mnet’s upcoming girl group competition show, “Queendom,” is already attracting a lot of speculation about its lineup.

On July 22, multiple industry sources reported that six artists had joined the show’s lineup: MAMAMOO, AOA, Lovelyz, Oh My Girl, (G)I-DLE, and Park Bom (formerly of 2NE1).

The concept of “Queendom” revolves around six artists releasing singles on the same day at the same time to compete it out on the music charts.

In a teaser for the show, MC Lee Da Hee said, “When idols make a comeback, they tend to try to avoid directly competing with others. This is not like that. This is 100 percent a head-to-head contest to determine who will come out on top.”

It was also reported that the broadcast featuring audience reactions will be filmed on July 29 at 8:30 p.m. KST in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. Mnet is currently taking applications to attend the event until July 22.

“Queendom” is expected to premiere sometime in August.
