Lee Dong Hwi, Jung Hye Sung, Kim Byung Chul, And More Confirmed For tvN's Webtoon-Based Drama
tvN has confirmed the main cast of its upcoming drama “Pegasus Market”!
“Pegasus Market” is based on a popular webtoon of the same name and tells the story of employees at a falling-behind store where the staff is king, rather than the customer. While the manager tries to revive the mart, they’re up against the “human bulldozer” boss that aims to ruin the store.
Baek Seung Ryong, who has previously worked on variety shows and dramas such as “Surplus Princess,” “Actor School,” and “Saturday Night Live Korea,” will be directing the drama.
Lee Dong Hwi will be taking on the role of Moon Seok Gu, a foolish shopkeeper who wants to make Pegasus Market the No. 1 retailer store. Although he seems a bit dim-witted, he dreams of becoming an employee at the headquarters of Daema Group by reviving the mart.
Kim Byung Chul will play the genius boss Jung Bok Dong, who tries to take revenge on Daema Group by destroying Pegasus Market. He was originally a board director at Daema Group and trusted by the CEO for his clear insight and fastidious personality, but he was suddenly demoted to being the boss of Pegasus Market. He tries to drive Pegasus Market to the ground by hiring people who have failed at life and are unlikely to be hired by anyone else.
Park Ho San will transform into Kwon Young Koo, an executive director of Daema Group who dreams of becoming No. 1 but is always beaten by Jung Bok Dong. Kwon Young Koo is afraid that Jung Bok Dong will find out that he is involved in embezzlement and tax evasion through Pegasus Market. Park Ho San’s character will add tension to the drama as he tries to prevent Jung Bok Dong from returning to Daema Group’s headquarters.
Veteran actor Lee Soon Jae will play Daema Group’s CEO Kim Dae Ma. Jung Hye Sung will take on the role of team leader Jo Mi Ran, who is sent to Pegasus Market on Kwon Young Koo’s orders to keep an eye on Jung Bok Dong.
The production staff stated, “The Pegasus Market is called ‘[place of] failed lives,’ but for others, it is place where some of the only heroes in the world gather. We will create a healing drama that will empower viewers to take a stand after watching the failed heroes gather and get back on their feet.”
“Pegasus Market” is set to air in the second half of the year.
