Girls' Generation's Seohyun And Fans Make Meaningful Donation Together To Celebrate Her Birthday

Girls’ Generation member Seohyun chose to give back for her birthday!

On August 8, international relief development NGO (non-governmental organization) Good Neighbors shared, “Seohyun and her fans donated 10 million won (approximately $8,272) to help Korean families in need.” The donation will be used to provide continuous medical treatment to young patients in need.

On the day of her birthday, June 28, Seohyun held a special event titled, “The Coffee Is Here,” where she transformed into a barista for the day. She made and served drinks for over 200 of her fans and donated the 10,099,100 won (approximately $8,345) she made from the event in its entirety. After the total was officially calculated, Seohyun showed extreme care and detail by asking her fans to pick where all the proceeds should go towards through a survey.

Seohyun shared, “I’ve thought a lot about how to share the love I received throughout my life. I am glad to be able to give back with my fans. I want to sincerely thank all the fans who joined me. I want to keep creating many opportunities for us to help our neighbors in need.”

The marketing director of NGO Good Neighbors shared, “We will make sure the donation from Seohyun and her fans is delivered well. We will continue working hard and supporting the cause so that young children in need can get the continuous medical attention they require to grow healthily and stably.”

Seohyun’s agency Namoo Actors also posted an official certificate of sponsorship onto their Twitter account.

The tweet reads, “Your hearts came together and achieved a meaningful result. In accordance with your opinions, this donation will go towards children who are unable to receive the medical treatment they require. Once again, we want to thank all those who participated in our event.”

The certificate reads, “We want to thank you for providing for our isolated neighbors through Good Neighbors. With the donation from Seohyun and her fans, we will aid children unable to receive constant medical attention. We thank you again for your thoughtful donation. Good Neighbors will continue to do our best to prioritize the health of our children globally and change our world for the better. Thank you.”
