IU Reported To Have Made Meaningful Donation To The Elderly

IU has reportedly made a donation to help the elderly!

According to news outlet SpoTV News, IU recently donated 10 million won (approximately $8,300) through Seocho District Office for those in vulnerable social groups and elderly living alone. The singer has donated 10 million won every year since 2016, and the money she provided this year was used for heat wave preparation supplies.

This news was belatedly reported in the Seocho district newsletter. The Seocho District Office reportedly said, “With IU’s sponsorship, we delivered 100 cooling comforters to senior citizens of the vulnerable class.” According to SpoTV News, although IU requested that her deeds remain a secret, the news of her donation was revealed due to communication errors in the delivery process.

IU currently donates to around 10 organizations, and she is known for donating to various places including her alma mater Dongduk Girls’ High School, the Seoul City Deaf Senior Citizens Support Center, Seungil Hope Foundation, and the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation. She also made a donation of 100 million won (approximately $82,600) to ChildFund Korea for children and families who were affected by the Gangwon Province fires.

IU currently stars in tvN’s “Hotel Del Luna” as its main character Jang Man Wol.
