Kangnam Confirmed To Be Preparing For Korean Naturalization
Kangnam has made the decision to renounce his Japanese citizenship and begin the process of becoming naturalized in Korea.
On August 12, it was reported that Kangnam had begun preparing to be naturalized from late last year. A source from his agency Dmost Entertainment responded to the news and stated, “It’s true that Kangnam is preparing to be naturalized. He will be submitting his request this month. The process is expected to take about one year.”
Kangnam has a Korean mother and Japanese father, and he first made his debut in 2011 as a member of M.I.B. Since then, he has been loved for his unique character on variety shows, and has branched out into various music genres as well from hip hop to trot and dance.
In March, his relationship with speed skater Lee Sang Hwa became public and he signed a contract with Dmost Entertainment in May.
