Woman Accusing B.A.P's Himchan Of Indecent Assault Forwarded To Prosecution For Suspicions Of Blackmail

The woman (hereafter referred to as “A”) who has accused B.A.P’s Himchan of indecent assault has been sent to prosecution for suspicions of joint blackmail.

According to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station on August 13, “A” was forwarded to prosecution with a recommendation for indictment.

The Gyeonggi Province Namyangju Police Station stated that Himchan is currently under suspicion of committing an indecent act by compulsion against a woman in her 20s at a guest house in July 2018. In September 2018, Himchan was booked without detention before being sent to the prosecutor’s office with a recommendation for indictment.

At the first trial in July 2019, Himchan’s lawyer stated, “There were feelings of interest between the two. It wasn’t explicit consent, but there was implied consent, which is why it is not indecent act by compulsion.”

The lawyer added, “It’s clear that there were feelings of interest between them. We acknowledge the truth of the kissing and the touching of [her] chest, but there was no other physical contact beyond that,” and denied the suspicions of indecent act by compulsion.

There is now interest in how “A” being forwarded to prosecution may impact the second trial.
