INFINITE's L In Talks To Star In New Drama Based On Webtoon
INFINITE’s L may be taking on his next acting project!
“Welcome” is an upcoming drama based on a webtoon of the same title and tells the story of a cat, who can transform into a human, and his owner. The drama was previously titled “Man Who Bakes Bread,” (literal translation) but it now goes by the same title as the webtoon. It is written by Joo Hwa Mi of “Marriage, Not Dating” and “Introverted Boss” and will be directed by Lee Jong Jae of “100 Days My Prince.”
On August 19, an industry source close to L relayed to News1, “‘Welcome’ is one of the works he was offered,” explaining that he has not yet been confirmed to star in it.
L was offered the role of Hong Jo, the cat who becomes human and lives a double life. BTOB’s Yook Sungjae had been confirmed to play the character last year, but he stepped down from the role this May. Park Eun Bin and Seo Ji Hoon are in talks to star in the drama as well.
While it was previously confirmed to be broadcasting on tvN, a source from the channel stated that the drama will not be airing on tvN anymore.
Meanwhile, L starred in KBS 2TV’s “Angel’s Last Mission: Love” as the bright angel Dan. He recently revealed that he left Woollim Entertainment, his agency of 10 years, following the expiration of his contract.
