Watch: Gong Hyo Jin And Cast Of Upcoming Drama Celebrate Kang Ha Neul's Military Discharge At Script Reading
KBS 2TV’s upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama “When the Camellia Blooms” (literal title) has released a behind-the-scenes video of the script reading!
“When the Camellia Blooms” will be a romance drama about the realistic, passionate love stories of three couples. The cast includes Gong Hyo Jin, Kang Ha Neul, Kim Ji Suk, Son Dam Bi, and more.
The stars were full of excitement and energy as they gathered for the script reading that took place last May. The attention was especially on Kang Ha Neul, as he had just been discharged from the military at the time, and he received much congratulations and warm applause from his fellow actors.
Gong Hyo Jin shared her anticipation for the drama by saying, “There are a lot of characters, but while I was reading the script, I was so curious as to what would happen next. Because the actors brought so much life to it while reading, it was a fresh new feeling.”
She added, “I actually burst out laughing at unexpected parts. It makes me more excited and ready to work even harder. The drama hits all the different chords – comedy, heart-fluttering romance, and even thriller.”
Just as Gong Hyo Jin stated, the room was full of laughter at parts due to the comedic performances of the cast and their perfect chemistry. Go Doo Shim particularly shined with her use of a dialect, exclaiming, “Why would you go at a man holding a knife? Gosh, you must be mad!”
At the end of the script reading, the cast surprised Kang Ha Neul with a bouquet of flowers and a cake, making for a warm conclusion and building anticipation for the continued synergy the actors will show in the drama.
