BTS Achieves 2nd Gold Album In U.S. After 'Map Of The Soul: Persona' Earns RIAA Certification

BTS’s latest mini album “Map of the Soul: Persona” has officially gone gold in the United States!

On August 23 local time, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced that “Map of the Soul: Persona” had received an official gold certification after selling over 0.5 million units in the United States.

“Map of the Soul: Persona” is now the second BTS album to achieve the feat after “Love Yourself: Answer,” which made history in 2018 as the first album by a Korean artist to receive a RIAA gold certification.

BTS also previously became the first Korean group ever to receive a RIAA gold certification for a single with “MIC Drop,” which went gold in February 2018. The song later went platinum in November of that year, making BTS also the first Korean group to earn a RIAA platinum certification. The group has since gone gold with their songs “DNA,” “Fake Love,” and “IDOL,” and their latest title track “Boy With Luv” recently went platinum earlier this summer.

Congratulations to BTS on another impressive achievement!
