Jung Gun Joo Shares Thoughts About New Drama Co-Starring SF9's Rowoon And Kim Hye Yoon

In the new MBC drama “Extraordinary You,” Jung Gun Joo will be transforming into the playful Lee Do Hwa who harbors a secret pain.

“Extraordinary You” is based on a fantasy school romance webtoon called “July Found by Chance” (literal title), which tells the story of students who realize that they are actually characters in a manhwa (Korean comic) and try to go against its plot.

Jung Gun Joo’s character Lee Do Hwa is the No. 2 member of the high school’s group of “pretty boys” known as A3. With his playful, cute personality, Lee Do Hwa gets along with everyone and has a friendly nature. Beneath his carefree, bright appearance, however, Lee Do Hwa suffers from depression.

Along with two new stills from the drama, Jung Goo Joo commented, “When I am with my family, I think I’m like Lee Do Hwa. I’m the youngest son of a family of boys, so I’m in charge of aegyo [acting cute].”

He also shared, “Our drama makes you think of green. Green symbolizes fresh nature, and ‘Extraordinary You’ will also be responsible for healing the viewers with the bright and fresh energy of young people. Each character is alive and full of personality. Through these characters, you can feel various abundant emotions.”

“Extraordinary You” will premiere on October 2 at 8:55 p.m. KST.
