Watch: Ong Seong Wu, Kim Hyang Gi, And More Tearfully Shoot Final Scenes For "Moments Of 18"
The cast of JTBC’s “Moments of 18” experienced a whole range of emotions as they brought the drama to a close in new behind-the-scenes videos!
Firstly, a clip released by Kim Hyang Gi’s agency Namoo Actors followed the actress as she shot her last scenes with co-star Ong Seong Wu. It began with the couple at an art museum for a sweet date. Kim Hyang Gi toured the venue and explained, “Today is Monday, so the museum is closed. I’m debating whether I should come back on another day after filming ends.” Despite most of the exhibits not being in operation, she still managed to have fun and was particularly amused by a quiz that labeled her presence to endangered animals as “warm sunshine.”
The next scene to be shot was the finale, in which Yoo Soo Bin (played by Kim Hyang Gi) runs to the bus terminal to be with Choi Jun Woo (played by Ong Seong Wu) one last time before he moves away. Kim Hyang Gi teared up as she stated, “It hasn’t really hit me yet that this is the last shoot. I don’t know what will happen when it ends. I feel strange.” Both she and Ong Seong Wu pulled off excellent acting to the last moment, embracing in an emotional parting scene that is sure to live in the memories of viewers.
In the second behind-the-scenes video, the mood on set was shown to be light and full of laughter. The whole crew cracked up as Ong Seong Wu arrived to shoot a scene that imagines Yoo Soo Bin and Choi Jun Woo as a campus couple, as his outfit resembles one a typical wedding guest would wear. Ong Seong Wu continued to joke around by saying, “This actually feels like a promotional poster for a university.”
The drama’s main cast also shared their thoughts on the end of the drama. Ong Seong Wu stated, “While watching my acting being broadcasted, there were many aspects that I thought were lacking and embarrassing. However, as the drama ends, I’ve thought that it’s a relief that I could recognize my flaws and be embarrassed. I’m so thankful to all the people who created this drama with me.”
Kim Hyang Gi said, “As someone who experiences emotions after the fact, I think I’ll become really sad when I’m at home. But filming was so much fun and I made lots of memories, so I’m greeting everyone with a happy heart. Thank you so much to all the viewers who loved ‘Moments of 18.'”
Shin Seung Ho, who played Ma Hwi Young, commented, “The viewers must have really resented my character a lot, but I sincerely thank everyone for showing their love for the drama and for Hwi Young. Since it really feels like the end, it’s a bit upsetting, but I’m very thankful and happy to have received love from viewers while collaborating with great colleagues on a great set.”
Kang Ki Young, who took on the role of homeroom teacher Oh Han Kyeol, stated, “I checked the comments while watching the drama, and people said that there isn’t a teacher [like Oh Han Kyeol] in all of Korea. I don’t think that’s true. I cheer on all the sincere teachers and 18-year-olds in Korea. Thank you for supporting ‘Moments of 18.'”
Finally, the full cast of students gathered for the epilogue scene. Although the actors couldn’t help but feel awkward, they created a warm atmosphere that made for an even warmer finale. As they took a group picture, Kim Bo Yoon commented, “I’m tearing up,” and the cast teased, “You’re crying? Don’t cry, silly!” showing off their close relationship to the end.
