MC Ding Dong Releases Statement After Being Cleared Of Assault Charges

MC Ding Dong has issued a statement after being cleared of suspicions of assault.

In July, the MC was booked for assaulting MC trainee “A” after “A” filed a complaint to the Mapo Police Station for habitual assault, insults, and poor compensation. MC Ding Dong denied all allegations at the time.

On September 12, the MC posted a screenshot of a text message he received from the Seoul Western District Prosecutor’s Office, which stated that he was cleared of suspicions.

His full statement is below:

Hello, this is MC Ding Dong.

First, I want to bow my head and apologize once again for hurting those who loved me with unsettling news.

Thanks to the trust of many people, I was able to directly communicate with many of you at various events. I, too, was able to laugh and feel happy and proud as I worked with the audience.

During that time, I began thinking about how I wanted to help juniors who had the same dream as me, and I was happy training many juniors for a long time. However, I caused many people concern with unpleasant news during that process.

I diligently cooperated with the investigations of judicial authorities and was finally cleared of all charges for assault. Despite this, my heart feels heavy about becoming distant with a junior whom I walked on this path with while dreaming the same dream. I still feel so happy hosting on stage and communicating with people. I will still gladly share what I have with juniors dreaming of becoming an MC like me regardless of this incident.

For me, after working without rest until now, this incident became a time of introspection in which I could look back at my life. I really thank my lovely family, the juniors who trusted me until the end and stayed with me, and the Ding Dong Happy Company family. I was also able to endure thanks to many people who cheered for me until the end. I really want to thank you once again.

I want to apologize for causing concern to many people with this incident. Like how the ground hardens after the rain, I will work hard to become a stronger and more mature MC Ding Dong. I hope you’ll have a laughter-filled Chuseok holiday, and I will see you on stage. Thank you.
