Watch: Kang Ha Neul Aims To Be Gong Hyo Jin's Knight In Shining Armor In "When the Camellia Blooms"

KBS2’s upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama “When the Camellia Blooms” has released a new highlight video!

“When the Camellia Blooms” is about three couples in different stages of love. Gong Hyo Jin plays Dong Baek, who is stuck in a certain perception of love, and Kang Ha Neul is Yong Sik, who greatly loves and supports Dong Baek.

The video begins with Yong Sik making a strange confession to her. While laughing awkwardly, he declares, “I’m a bachelor. I’m a true bachelor. A real one.” While the word he uses means a single man, it can also mean a male virgin. Dong Baek quickly flees the scene as she mumbles under her breath, “He must be crazy.”

In the strange countryside town of Ongsan, the women are in charge, and the men are at their beck and call. Then Dong Baek appears with her shop Camellia, and the women become displeased by the attention she receives from men. They especially became wary of her when she admits she’s a single mother with a child and her store is actually a bar and not a flower shop.

Dong Baek doesn’t receive any warmth from her neighbors, and she is made an outcast by the women who see her as an enemy. She keeps telling herself it’s okay, but she breaks down with distraught tears. Her heart breaks even more when her son Pil Goo (Kim Kang Hoon) cries, “Everybody in the world hates you but me!”

However, that seems to not be the case because Yong Sik, the town’s policeman, is head over heels for her. Yong Sik declares, “A person’s heart can be won in three seconds. I realized that in the first three seconds that I saw Dong Baek in the bookstore. I just fell for her at first sight.”

Yong Sik starts to relentlessly pursue her, and he protects her from everyone, including the women of Ongsan and a mysterious serial killer on the loose. He declares, “I told you not to mess with Dong Baek. Anyone who messes with her is dead meat.”

“When the Camellia Blooms” premieres on September 18 at 10 p.m. KST.
