On September 18, Maroo Entertainment’s newest boy group held a showcase at Bluesquare iMarket Hall for the release of their debut album “VERY, ON TOP.”
Made up of Lee Tae Seung, Lee Woo Jin, and Lee Jin Woo from “Produce X 101,” TEEN TEEN is a group that makes pop music for teenagers while embodying the refreshing charms of youthfulness and liveliness of teenagers.
Their debut album “VERY, ON TOP” consists of five songs including the title track “It’s On You,” and b-sides “On Top,” “Be My Girl,” “With Me,” and “Stay.”
Lee Woo Jin said, “The three of us practiced like this for ‘Produce X 101,’ and I couldn’t believe that we were practicing for our debut.” Lee Jin Woo added, “While working hard to prepare, we also had fun. I think that we’ll be able to do a good job.” Lee Tae Seung stated, “Our period of training was short and we may not be perfect, but we had fun practicing together and worked hard to prepare, so please give us lots of love.”
As for ideas for their group name, Lee Jin Woo suggested “Beautiful Boys” (literal translation), Lee Tae Seung proposed “Maroo Boys,” and Lee Woo Jin came up with “Junior Maroo.”
TEEN TEEN also spoke about receiving support from their agency labelmates Park Ji Hoon and Norazo. Lee Woo Jin said, “When he heard that we were debuting, Park Ji Hoon gave us advice and told us to work hard. Norazo bought us something to drink and told us to work hard. They took care of us a lot.”
