Hong Jin Young Withdraws Contract Termination Request

Hong Jin Young has withdrawn her application for contract termination.

On September 19, a report stated that Hong Jin Young and Music K Entertainment had come to an amicable agreement, rather than continuing their legal battle. A source from Music K Entertainment later confirmed this by stating, “Hong Jin Young submitted to the court a notice of withdrawal of her application for an injunction to terminate the effect of her exclusive contract.” They added that the results from the court have not yet been released.

In June, Hong Jin Young applied for an injunction to terminate the effect of her exclusive contract with Music K, the agency she has been with for 10 years. In August, she posted on Instagram to share the details of her legal battle with the company, and she described issues such as the company enforcing an overly demanding schedule despite her illness, signing a dual contract with an advertiser without her awareness, failing to pay her money she was due, and more. Music K replied in a statement to deny her claims, and Hong Jin Young responded to refute their statements and provide further details.

The first hearing for the civil suit was scheduled for September 20, however as Hong Jin Young has withdrawn her application for contract termination, the legal dispute has come to an end.
