Seungri's Scheduled Questioning By Police Today Is Pushed Back As He Requests Private Investigation

Seungri was scheduled to be called into questioning today by police but the plans have fallen through as he requested that it be rescheduled to a date that is undisclosed to the public.

Seungri was originally set to meet the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s Sophisticated Crime Investigation Division on September 23 for his second round of questioning regarding charges of habitual gambling and violating the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act.

However, after the date was made public and was reported on, Seungri filed a request to change the date as he wished for his appearance at the police station to be undisclosed, so today’s scheduled questioning will not take place. A source from the Sophisticated Crime Investigation Division confirmed, “There are no plans to call in Seungri for questioning today. He will not be called in today.”

Seungri is currently under suspicion of habitual gambling in hotel casinos in Las Vegas and funding the gambling with illegal practices surrounding foreign exchange transactions, often called “hwanchigi.” Yang Hyun Suk is also being questioned for the same charges.

This was set to be his second questioning following the first, which took place in August. Ahead of the questioning, Seungri stated, “I will tell the truth about all questions by the police. I apologize for causing concern,” and once the 12-hour questioning ended, Seungri said, “I told the truth about the suspicions. I will continue to be diligent and follow the rules for the remainder of the investigation. Once again, I am sorry.”
