Watch: Ji Chang Wook And Won Jin Ah Take Control Of Their Lives Again In "Melting Me Softly" Teaser
“Melting Me Softly” has released some new teasers ahead of its premiere on September 28!
“Melting Me Softly” is an upcoming drama from tvN about a variety show producer (Ji Chang Wook) and a volunteer (Won Jin Ah) who participate in a project to be cryogenically frozen for 24 hours. Due to a mysterious scheme, they end up waking 20 years later with the side effect of having to maintain a core body temperature below 33 degrees Celsius (about 91.4 degrees Fahrenheit) to survive.
In the teaser for Episode 1, Ma Dong Chan (Ji Chang Wook) reveals part of his motivation for such a project by asking, “Professor, if I help you, will the world become a better place just like you say?” The teaser also shows Son Hyun Ki (Lee Hong Ki/Im Won Hee) trying to cast Go Mi Ran (Won Jin Ah) for the project. She says in scorn, “Am I a fish to be frozen?”
An unknown voice then says, “In 20 years, you’ll meet the person you’re destined to be with. But until then, you’ll be very cold…”
In the five-minute highlight reel, Ma Dong Chan and Go Mi Ran try to pick up the threads of their old life. Go Mi Ran blames Ma Dong Chan and his fellow producers at the broadcast network for ruining her life and demands that they pay her for the past 20 years.
Ma Dong Chan wants to work on variety shows again and threatens to move to another station if the executives don’t agree. Unfortunately, he keeps pitching ideas that have already been done in the past 20 years. He also struggles with the trappings of modern life like smartphones and carbonated water, saying at one point, “Do people drink soda without any sugar in it nowadays?”
The end of the highlight reel focuses on the danger that Ma Dong Chan and Go Mi Ran face with regards to their body temperature. Ma Dong Chan is constantly worried about Go Mi Ran overheating, even rushing her to the hospital in one scene.
