IU released a lyrics image for her pre-release track “Love Poem.” The lyrics read, “Someone seems to be praying for someone else. It’s like the quiet sound of a love poem written with bated breath.”

“Love Poem” is a pre-release track from her upcoming fifth mini album, which has been delayed to an unspecified date (see her letter below). The song will be released on November 1 at 6 p.m. KST.

On October 20, the singer posted the following message on her official fan cafe:

I’ve postponed the release schedule of my new album, which was scheduled to be released on November 1. There’s only about two weeks left before my concert of the same name, so I thought long and hard about the schedule with the staff members due to problems regarding the overall message of the concert and the set list, but to be honest, I think I need a little time for myself.

Instead, I will play the last track of the new album, “Love Poem,” which has been an integral part of the album and the upcoming concert, for you on November 1 before the other tracks. This was the song that I was originally preparing to share as a pre-release track on October 28. It’s a song that was like the theme of this album, and I prepared the album and concert around this song, so I really want to play this song for you all during the concert.

This was a decision I made because my abilities as an individual were unable to align with my responsibilities as the album’s producer and the singer holding the concert, so I’m sorry to UAENA [IU’s fan club], who have been waiting excitedly for new music. What I can promise is that I won’t keep you waiting long until I share the music I’ve prepared, and I won’t hold a disappointing concert. I rambled quite a bit, but I wanted to apologize through my own words, so I wrote this post. I’m really sorry, and I’m always grateful.”

The new release date for IU’s upcoming album has yet to be announced.
