It’s official: BTS’s Jungkook has cut his hair, and Twitter is shook.

On the evening of October 13 KST, Jungkook surprised ARMY by taking to Twitter to share photos of his brand-new haircut. The idol had been sporting longer locks as recently as BTS’s concert in Saudi Arabia two days prior, but he revealed through his new selfies that he had shed the look in favor of a shorter cut.

In his post, Jungkook wrote simply, “Cut,” then playfully added several eye emojis and a smiley face.

The news spread quickly across the social media platform, with the post racking up over one million views in just two hours.

Additionally, the dramatic phrase “HE CUT HIS HAIR”—with no specification of who the “he” in question was—soon climbed to the top of Twitter’s list of the highest-trending topics in various countries, including the United States. The phrase also trended in languages other than English (for example, “IL A COUPÉ” became one of the highest-trending topics in France, along with—hilariously—#StayStrongArmy).
