"When The Camellia Blooms" Holds On To Top Spot Despite Drop In Viewership Ratings
KBS’s “When the Camellia Blooms” continues to hold on to its spot at the top of the Wednesday night time slot.
According to Nielsen Korea, the October 16 episode of “When the Camellia Blooms” recorded average nationwide viewership ratings of 11 and 13.4 percent. This is a slight decrease from last week’s 11 and 14.5 percent ratings. However, the drama continues to garner the highest ratings among all the dramas airing in the same or similar time slots.
SBS’s “Secret Boutique” garnered ratings of 4.2 and 5.4 percent. MBC’s “Extraordinary You,” which airs one hour earlier than “Secret Boutique” and “When the Camellia Blooms,” recorded ratings of 3.1 and 4.1 percent. This is the first time “Extraordinary You” has broken past 4 percent and is therefore a new personal best for the drama.
On the cable side, which calculates ratings differently, MBN’s “Graceful Family” hit a new personal best with 8.0 percent. This is a 1 percent increase from last week and a 0.7 percent increase from their previous personal best of 7.3 percent. Adding the 0.9 percent ratings from Dramax (total 8.9 percent) gives “Graceful Family” the highest viewership rating of any show, drama or variety, that has ever aired on MBN.
