Park Hae Jin's Long-Delayed Drama 'Four Sons' Reported To Have Undergone Extra Filming

There has been an unofficial update on Park Hae Jin and Lee Si Ah’s long-delayed drama “Four Sons” (working title).

“Four Sons” was supposed to be a fantasy thriller about a man who encounters three men who look exactly to like himself while investigating his mother’s suspicious death. Originally Park Hae Jin and Nana were attached to star and the producing director (PD) Jang Tae Yoo from “My Love From the Star” was set to produce. The drama was plagued by production problems last year that led to the departure of cast members like Nana and a change in directors.

Eventually, the drama’s production company became embroiled in several lawsuits, one with a lighting company and one with their lead actor, Park Hae Jin. Park Hae Jin’s agency then took legal action against the company. Earlier this year, Park Hae Jin won the lawsuit and cleared the way to start filming a new drama, “Secret.”

On October 16, a source from the drama industry told Ilgan Sports, “The production company of ‘Four Sons’ recently did some extra filming. They gathered part of the cast and crew to put the finishing touches on the production.”

“Four Sons” originally began filming in January 2018. Lee Si Ah replaced Nana as the lead actress in August of the same year.

However, as “Four Sons” failed to finish in the time stated in their contract, it is unclear what the drama will do without its lead actor, who also plays four characters in the story. Park Hae Jin and Lee Si Ah have filmed about twelve episodes’ worth of content. The production company is reportedly considering cutting this down to make it an eight-episode or six-episode series and put in hints for a potential second season instead. A source stated, “I heard recently that they were planning to reduce the length to eight episodes and sell it to a broadcaster that way.”

In order to wrap up the storyline that has already been filmed, actors like Park Geun Hyung responded to the production company’s request for extra filming. However, the production company has not yet found a broadcaster for the drama, making it difficult to know how much longer viewers will have to wait to see it. Moreover, if the series length is indeed cut down, there will be considerable time spent in editing.
