Plans Announced For tvN's "Live" To Be Remade As U.S. Television Series
tvN’s drama “Live” may soon be getting an American remake!
U.S. Hollywood news media Deadline reported that plans are in motion to have “Live” remade as an American television series by 20th Century Fox TV and Fox Entertainment.
According to the article, this remake will involve participation from the people behind the original Korean drama. Studio Dragon, the Korean production company with the rights to “Live,” will be working with Indian Meadows Productions on the project, and Noh Hee Kyung, the writer of the original series, will be a co-producer on the show.
“Live” was a 2018 tvN drama starring Bae Jong Ok, Jung Yu Mi, Lee Kwang Soo, and Bae Sung Woo. The story revolved around the Hongil Patrol Division and the police officers who worked there, following rookie police officers as they grew and being applauded as a well-made drama that touched on the value of small joys in life and the importance of justice.
The American version of “Live” will be set in Washington D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department, with events seen through the eyes of young African American cop Darcell Murray. The drama will follow how money, race, sex, and statecraft clash in the nation’s capital city.
