JYP Makes Official Statement On TWICE's Mina's Plans For Future Promotions
JYP Entertainment has officially addressed whether TWICE’s Mina will be joining the group for their future promotions.
On October 20, Mina delighted fans by unexpectedly joining her bandmates on stage at TWICE’s special fan meeting for the fourth anniversary of their debut. Following her surprise appearance at the fan meeting in Seoul, JYP Entertainment commented on the possibility of Mina’s return to promotional activities.
The agency stated, “Mina herself personally wanted to join the fans for the fourth anniversary fan meeting. After discussions with the members, we decided that she would start by participating in the performances.”
JYP Entertainment continued, “Her future schedule has not yet been decided. As we previously announced, [her decision to participate in TWICE’s activities] can change depending on her condition [at the time], and we will prioritize the state of her health above all else when coming to a decision.”
Earlier this year, JYP Entertainment revealed that Mina had been diagnosed with anxiety disorder and would be taking time off from TWICE’s promotions in order to focus on her health. Although she participated in the recording and music video filming for TWICE’s latest mini album “Feel Special,” she did not participate in the group’s promotions for the release.
TWICE will soon be embarking on the Japanese leg of their “TWICELIGHTS” world tour, which will kick off in Hokkaido on October 23. The group is also currently gearing up for the release of their second Japanese studio album “&TWICE,” featuring the title track “Fake & True.” Mina appeared alongside her fellow members in the music video for the song, which was released earlier this week.
