Fantagio Ends Contract Disputes With Actors

Fantagio has finally put all of its legal disputes with some of the agency’s actors to an end after almost a year and a half.

In May 2018, actors including Kang Han Na, Im Hyun Sung, Kang Hae Lim, and Choi Yoon Ra requested dispute mediation from the Korea Entertainment Management Association to terminate their exclusive contracts with Fantagio. Starting with Kang Ha Na in March, all of the actors have acknowledged the validity of their contracts with Fantagio and returned to the agency to resume their activities.

Representatives of Choi Yoon Ra and Kang Hae Lim stated, “We feel apologetic for worrying many people including the management team of Fantagio during the recent adjustment period. We thank all Fantagio representatives who understood our positions and showed consideration while coming to an agreement. We ask that you continue to show interest and love for us as we plan to pay them back by participating in great activities with Fantagio.”

Fantagio also stated, “Choi Yoon Ra and Kang Hae Lim have officially returned to Fantagio. We plan to provide our fullest support to ensure Choi Yoon Ra’s and Kang Hae Lim’s growth and stable promotions in the entertainment industry.”

Lawyers Kim Tae Woo and Lee Chun Sang who acted as Fantagio’s legal representatives shared, “Fantagio winning against all artists who were involved in contract disputes with the agency is unprecedented in the history of contract disputes between celebrities and agencies.” They further explained, “The court’s ruling was an agreeable decision that took the importance of fulfilling demands of a contract into consideration for a healthy growth of the entertainment industry, and it set an important reference point for future contract disputes.”

As a result, all four actors have returned to Fantagio, where they will resume their activities.
