Stars And Style: Celebrity Guests And Top 10 Trends From Seoul Fashion Week S/S20
Seoul Fashion Week just ended and as always, celebrities were there to brighten up the event with their presence and support their favorite designers. Back in 2015, fashion editor Bethan Holt predicted in Grazia magazine that Korean fashion would be “The Next Big Thing,” and that it was “time to get serious about Korean fashion.” Seoul Fashion Week has become one of the largest and most-watched events not only in Korea but also the world, transforming Seoul into a formidable and emerging fashion capital. In Korea, it is common practice for celebrity guests to sit in the front rows while wearing pieces from the latest collection of the fashion brand they’re watching. Here are some of the stars and style trends we’ve spotted that dominated the runways.
Checks and long coats
It’s officially fall in Korea, and stars are decked out in their common outerwear of choice: long coats. It’s the easiest and most versatile piece to wear, and it completes a look with a clean, simple, and sleek finish. Check and plaid patterns were also seen as a staple outfit addition, which creates a casual business look or preppy chic vibe.

Leather ensembles
Leather has been a fashion staple since bygone eras: from rock n’ roll inspirations or biker aesthetics to “The Matrix,” there’s something about leather that denotes itself as both classic and futuristic. From the go-to black jackets or head-to-toe coordinating pieces to long skirts and thigh high boots, stars were seen wearing leather effortlessly. We can bet that this trend is here to stay.

Members of girl and boy groups often attend shows with their fellow members, and these stars walked the red carpet in similar outfits or items that complemented each other. It’s a good tactic to look uniform and avoid clashing styles in photos. Matching outfits is also a way to show off their BFF status, or just have a fun double-take on fashion.

Spotted on the runways:
Former “Produce X 101” contestant Yuri started his career as a model, and it seems like his love for the runway never really went away.
Han Hyun Min has always been a designer favorite for his cool looks, tall stature, and because he’s one of the first models of Korean and Nigerian descent in the country. Nowadays, he’s making a name for himself not only on the runways but also on TV shows and dramas.
Jang Yoon Joo is considered one of Korea’s first supermodels, and she’s still working it on the catwalk in ethereal looks for a top Korean brand.
Another former “Produce X 101” contestant, Lee Se Jin made a surprise appearance on the runway sporting a belted suit.
Moon Gabi is a fixture as a featured muse for designer brand Greedilous.
As always, Bae Jung Nam and Cha Seung Won are the featured top male models in Songzio, a designer they’re walking for several years.

Graphiste Man.G brought diversity to the runway with genderless, statement-making outfits and models in drag.
Setsetset included cute prints and a cute (but cool and inspiring) grandpa model (famous senior model Kim Chil Du) on the runway.
