Police Confirmed To Be Analyzing Phones Seized From "Produce X 101" Staff Through Investigation
Police have confirmed that they are currently in the process of analyzing phones of “Produce X 101” staff members that they have obtained through multiple search and seizure warrants.
On October 28, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency revealed, “Regarding the allegations of voting manipulation in the audition program, we have obtained mobile phones from staff members after being granted four search and seizure warrants. We are currently in the process of analyzing data on the phones.”
They also explained, “Though it is true that some of our search and seizure warrants for some staff members were dismissed, the reports being made that none of our warrants were issued are false.” The statement was in response to a report made the previous day that the police’s search and seizure requests were all being denied by the courts.
The police is currently investigating whether voting manipulation took place in Mnet’s survival show “Produce X 101.” Since the investigations began in July, the scope has expanded to include all previous seasons of “Produce 101,” as well as another survival show “Idol School.” Most recently, the police has been looking into whether any of the producing directors participated in voting manipulation for monetary compensation.
