Dok2 Confirmed To Be Undergoing Tax Investigation

On October 29, it was reported that rapper Dok2 is currently undergoing investigation by the National Tax Service.

Dok2’s investigation is part of a much broader tax investigation that the National Tax Service is carrying out against 122 high-income earners who are suspected of tax evasion. This investigation was launched on October 16.

According to the inspection agency and the entertainment industry, the National Tax Service began working with the Research Bureau at the Seoul Regional Tax Office in the middle of October. Dok2’s tax investigation began around this time and is expected to continue into the beginning of November. It has been described as an “occasional” investigation and not a regular fixed audit.

On October 30, Dok2’s representatives stated, “It is true that Dok2 recently became the subject of a tax investigation by the National Tax Service. It is not because he is suspected of tax evasion, but because he is included in the wider survey of high-income celebrities and influencers.”

The National Tax Service chose the 122 subjects of their investigation based on data from the NITS (Neo Tax Integrated System), related organizations, foreign exchange data, and the FIU (the Korea Financial Intelligence Unit).
