Jung Yu Mi And Gong Yoo's Film 'Kim Ji Young, Born 1982' Surpasses 2 Million Moviegoers At Impressive Speed

Jung Yu Mi and Gong Yoo’s new movie is going strong at the box office!

As of 7 a.m. KST on November 2, “Kim Ji Young, Born 1982” officially surpassed 2 million moviegoers. The film was originally released on October 23, meaning that it took the movie just 11 days to reach the milestone—the same record achieved by Disney’s hit live-action film “Aladdin” (which has since racked up a total of 12,551,456 moviegoers).

“Kim Ji Young, Born 1982” also hit the 2 million mark faster than the popular film “Bohemian Rhapsody,” which took 14 days to reach the milestone, as well as Yoo Ah In‘s 2011 movie “Punch“—another film adaptation of a best-selling novel—which took 16 days to achieve the feat.

Based on the best-selling novel of the same name, “Kim Ji Young, Born 1982” tells the life story of an ordinary woman in her thirties named Kim Ji Young (played by Jung Yu Mi). The film also stars Gong Yoo as Kim Ji Young’s husband Jung Dae Hyun.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of “Kim Ji Young, Born 1982”!
